Stretch

Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy. We need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Once you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way- Putting you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage. (Harvard Health Publishing 09/13)

Two things that the stretch session focuses on:

  • Circulation - increases blood flow to muscles, which shortens recovery time and decreases soreness
  • Flexibility - maintain a good range of motion and stops muscles from becoming tight

During the session, you will be taught the best stretch for YOU. This will help you to understand your body's needs and make it easier to stay consistent.
